The City of Cape May invites residents and guests to join in a patriotic celebration of America’s 250th birthday on the 4th of July, right here in America's first seaside resort!

The celebration will take place in the evening with Cape May’s annual Independence Day Fireworks display. Sponsored by the City of Cape May, Congress Hall, and the County of Cape May, fireworks will be launched from a barge offshore in front of Congress Hall beginning at approximately 9:30pm. The rain date for the fireworks is scheduled for Monday, July 6th, and will be announced via social media if necessary.

Visitors are encouraged to arrive early, as large crowds are expected throughout the day.

For additional information about the Fireworks display, please call 609-884-9565.

Additionally, a variety of free concerts will be held in Rotary Park over the holiday weekend, located at 400 Lafayette Street. Bring a blanket or chair as seating is limited, and enjoy the music beginning at 7pm. The weekend lineup is as follows:

Friday, July 3rd – Tom Powdermaker Duo

Saturday, July 4th – Nolan Quinn & The Troublemakers

Sunday, July 5th – Quarantined Quartet

Monday, July 6th – Geno White Trio

From patriotic traditions and community celebrations to live music and fireworks along the shore, Cape May offers the perfect setting to honor America’s 250th birthday. Whether you’re a longtime resident or visiting for the holiday weekend, we invite you to be part of this unforgettable celebration and experience the spirit, history, and charm that make Cape May truly one of a kind.
